How to Wear and Care

  • Our Promise

With mindful care, your pieces will remain a lasting reflection of elegance and craftsmanship. We encourage you to handle each piece as the unique treasure it is—because, like the stories they carry, no two jewels are ever the same.

  • General Care

Remove jewellery before swimming or applying lotions, perfumes, or hairspray.

Store your jewellery pieces in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery box to help prevent scratches, tangling, and any potential damage. This careful storage method ensures that your items remain in excellent condition for longer.

  • Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater pearls are organic gems with a delicate surface and natural luster that can be damaged by water and harsh chemicals. Wearing them while swimming or showering exposes them to moisture that can weaken the pearl’s outer layer and dull their shine. To preserve their beauty, remove your pearl jewelry before contact with water. Gently wipe them with a soft cloth after wear to remove any natural oils or residues.

  • Semi Precious Stones

Our pieces feature carefully selected semi-precious stones—each chosen for its rich color, natural character, and timeless appeal. Though called “semi-precious,” these gems are anything but ordinary. Their natural beauty and individuality make them treasured elements in our designs, perfect for adding depth, color, and meaning to your story. .

  • Gold Vermeil vs Gold Filled

Our pieces are crafted using both gold-filled and gold vermeil, each offering beautiful, durable finishes. Gold-filled jewelry has a thick layer of solid gold bonded to a base metal, making it highly resistant to tarnish and everyday wear. Gold vermeil is sterling silver coated in a generous layer of 14K gold, combining precious metals for a luxurious look. While the processes differ, both are excellent quality, long-lasting options designed to give you the beauty of gold without the solid gold price.

To keep them looking their best, gently clean each piece using warm water combined with a mild soap, then carefully pat dry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.

It is important to avoid using abrasive polishing cloths or exposing the jewelry to rough surfaces, as these can gradually wear down the delicate gold layer and diminish its shine over time.

  • Wear with Love

Jewellery is meant to be lived in and loved. Each Kico piece carries a story—of the islands, of nature’s beauty, and of the moments you choose to wear it for.

Treat your jewellery with care, but above all, wear it with love, allowing it to become a part of your journey and memories.
